Dr Tan Kah Chye
Dr Tan obtained his B.Sc (1st Class Honours) and Ph.D in Physics, both from the National University of Singapore. He was awarded the prestigious Defence Technology Prize 1993 (Individual) for his significant contribution to the Ministry of Defence in defence technology, and the Institute of Physics Medal 1985 for being the top Physics honours student.
Dr Tan has accomplished several pieces of research work to develop new and innovative digital signal processing technologies for a variety of applications. His research findings were published in a number of top international journals, and featured in scientific documentaries separately produced by the British Broadcasting Corporation and the Australian Broadcasting Corporation.
As a scientist-educator, Dr Tan championed the initiative to carry out Datalogger-based Practical Tests in primary schools as well as Practical Implementation of Inquiry Learning using Datalogger in primary and secondary schools. He also spearheaded the design and development of a wide range of highly customized science kits that improve the efficiency in performing experiments and the quality of experimental data. A total of 24 patents on advanced science equipment and apparatus have been filed in various countries under Dr Tan’s name.
Dr Ho Kwok Chiang
Dr Ho obtained his B.Sc (Honours) in Mathematics and Ph.D in Physics, both from the National University of Singapore.
Dr. Ho worked in Defence Science Organization and Nanyang Technologyical University before co-founding Addest. Internationally, Dr Ho has been very highly regarded for his outstanding research contributions to the Signal Processing community. His research findings were published in not only numerous top international journals on Signal Processing, but also very widely circulated/referenced technical books.
As a scientist-educator, Dr Ho championed the Practical Implementation of Datalogger-based SPA (School-based Practical Assessment) in secondary schools and the design of an inaugural elective module entitled “Interactive Electronics” for NT and NA students which has been very well received on the ground. He also spearheaded the design and development of a wide range of dataloggers and sensors under our highly regarded Singapore brand name - Addestation. A total of 15 patents on advanced science equipment and apparatus have been filed in various countries under Dr Ho’s name.
